This page explains what you will find in this section of the website.
Nonprofits incorporated in Ontario are currently governed by Ontario’s Corporations Act (OCA). This section covers many of the basics of that Act. Bill 154, or the Cutting Unnecessary Red Tape Act, 2017 recently made a number of changes to the OCA. This section includes those changes.
The Ontario’s Not-for-Profit Corporations Act, 2010 (ONCA) will eventually replace the OCA, but it is not expected to come into force for at least another 2 years.
